illustrated crochet stitches - the basics

For beginners, the completion of that first blanket, first scarf, first table cover, brings with it a joy that had been previously unknown. Even those already familiar with the art of crochet find much to learn from these magazines.

Be sure to have someone help you to take your measurements to ensure the most accurate results. While it may take a while to learn the symbols, they can save space, and after awhile, many experienced crocheters find them easier to read. It may be easier to fit if you are working with someone else s measurements.

For instance the first chain, the in use loop on the hook and the to be used stitch running with the row. If you don't know of anybody that crochets, check online for some good tutorials on how to crochet and read patterns. Once you've worked with a few patterns, you'll find yourself much more familiar with the instructions, and you won't need to refer to the book any longer.

Take your time and concentrate on your technique. Learn to crochet and you ll discover a passion that you ll have for a lifetime.
