how to make crochet beanies - the way that grandma used to do it

I find myself staring on the crochet handbags displayed in a store's marquee and these bags are just fabulous that I can't really decide if I were to buy one. The word crochet comes from the French croche or croc meaning to hook.

If you would like to try to make a crochet scarf, the possibilities are endless when it comes to design and color combinations. My mom had taught me to cross-stitch as a child but that wouldn't do anymore. Just about everyone knows how to make a granny square.

Be sure to have someone help you to take your measurements to ensure the most accurate results. Be sure that you have enough supplies to finish the job; the last thing you want to have to do when you are in the middle of a project is run out for more yarn. So all you need to get going is to find a pattern that includes the stitches that you know, the materials and the right crochet hook or hooks and you are good to go.

Once you have practiced and feel you are ready to try an easy pattern, you can do a search online for a scarf pattern, which is what most beginners start out with. Browse through the books to find one that is most user-friendly for you.
